Barley grass powder
Barley grass powder is made from the young shoots of barley (Hordeum vulgare). After harvesting, the plant parts are gently dried and then finely ground to preserve as many nutrients as possible.
The powder contains vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and protein. Thanks to gentle processing, the natural range of nutrients is largely preserved. Barley grass powder is also characterised by its green colour and mild, herbal flavour.
In food processing, barley grass powder is mainly used in smoothies, juices, muesli and baked goods. It can also be used as a natural colouring agent in pasta and other products.
