Beetroot pomace is a by-product of juice production and consists of the solid parts of the plant, such as skins, pulp fibres and cell wall residues. It has a high crude fibre and dietary fibre content, and also contains phytochemicals such as betalains, as well as small amounts of vitamins and minerals. Pulp is available in both unground and ground forms – depending on the intended application.

In the animal feed industry, beetroot pulp is used as a high-fibre feed supplement for ruminants, horses and game. It can also be utilised as a component in fibre-optimised feed mixtures. In food processing, pomace can be used as a texturiser, a source of fibre or in upcycled product solutions, e.g. in doughs, high-fibre flour mixes or functional snacks.
