Maize by-product meal is produced during the manufacture of maize flour or maize semolina and contains the nutrient-rich components of the maize germ as well as residues from the husking process. It provides sustained energy, is rich in resistant starch and, due to its residual maize germ oil content, has a higher fat content. The product is suitable as a single feedstuff, particularly for dairy cows, and supports a high-energy, palatable diet.
