Description (organic) linseed oil:
Linseed oil is made from flax, also called linseed. Flax seeds are common throughout most of Europe and are pressed into a natural oil without heating. It is one of the best sources (55-70%) of the essential fatty acid linolenic acid (omega-3 fatty acid) and has an optimal ratio of omega-6 fatty acids.
Linseed oil is described as a very health-promoting oil, as omega-3 fatty acids are important for the metabolism and cardiovascular system. The high vitamin E content gives it an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, which can prevent muscle pain and support healthy cholesterol levels, among other things.
Due to its health-promoting effect on the human body, linseed oil is used in the food industry. It is mainly used in cold cuisine for the preparation of fresh salads and dips or, for example, as a traditional dish with potatoes and curd cheese. As a high-quality energy supplier, it is also used in the animal feed industry, e.g. for heavy-fed horses. In industry, linseed oil is used, among other things, as a wood paint, as it is an important binding and preserving agent for the production of alkyd resins and oil-based paints.
