Broccoli originated in Asia Minor and reached Italy through seafarers. It is harvested before flowering. Broccoli has a low calorie content and at the same time many vitamins and minerals. Especially the contained mustard oil is valuable for the body, as it serves as a scavenger of free radicals. For the production of (organic) broccoli powder, the broccoli is further processed immediately after harvesting, whereby the processing is done gently without heating. The dried material is then ground into a fine powder.
Broccoli powder is particularly popular as an ingredient in green smoothies or ready meals.
