Description (organic) currant powder/pomace, red or black:
(Organic) currants are a gooseberry plant and were already cultivated in monastery gardens in the Middle Ages. The bush bears from mid-June panicles, which are covered with the red berries. A distinction is made between red and black currants. The plant ingredients help the body to bind free radicals and strengthen the immune system. The largest amount of vitamins is contained in the black currant. In addition, it contains various minerals and trace elements such as potassium, magnesium or iron. The freeze-dried berries are ground and a coarse powder is obtained. The nutrients are largely preserved in this process.
The berries processed into (organic) currant powder are characterized by a slightly acidic – fruity taste, which makes them suitable as an ingredient in smoothies, baked goods and confectionery.
