Cereal flakes are pressed cereal grains. For this purpose, they are first steamed. The flakes can be, for example, oat flakes, millet flakes, wheat flakes or barley flakes. They all have a high content of protein, fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, biotin, iron or zinc.
Cereal flakes are used for the preparation of muesli or porridge. They are also often used in baked goods or desserts such as pancakes. They are also used as a binder in sauces or soups.
