Description (organic) oat bran:
(Organic) oat bran is a by-product obtained during the production of oat flakes. During the processing of oats, mainly hull parts and bran remain, which can be used as a product oat hull bran as food and feed. At approx. 25%, it has a higher crude fiber content and still contains approx. 6% crude protein.
Oat bran is found in feeds, especially for horses with low energy requirements. It is a roughage supplement, as it acts as a dietary fiber. In addition, it can be added to rabbit feed. However, as a feed, it is best utilized by sheep, as they are best able to digest oat hull bran. In human nutrition, oat bran is considered a dietary supplement because the fiber regulates intestinal function.
